Shakti's Mission
Each of our designs is focused on encompassing the beauty and strength of femininity, while also showcasing a modern and comfortable look. Every contribution made through Shakti is funneled into Dialogues of Desi Women, a platform supporting survivors and allies of gender-based violence through education, advocacy, and more.
Shakti: (n.) the female principle of divine energy. In Hinduism, Shakti is the goddess responsible for creation, which means without Shakti, there would be no universe. For many years the term has been used to empower South Asian women, and we strive for our brand to truly embrace the meaning of “shakti”.
Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.

Co-Founders, Shakti
We are two best friends who have been working together to bring awareness to gender-based violence in the South Asian community. Through our shared experiences and our work with Dialogues of Desi Women, we found a large gap in conversation around this topic. This fueled us to find different ways to empower and celebrate women all over the world. As a result, Shakti was born. We hope that our pieces bring conversation to both survivors and allies in our community, and we thank you all for the support!
